Well, it’s official, and we’re shouting it from the rooftops: Common Desk is finally expanding its reach to Greenville Ave, opening a central Dallas location at the newly-renovated, iconic Energy Square! Before the sun goes down on summer 2021, Common Desk will join the ranks of companies who have called this campus home since the 1950s—bringing flexible office space, experiential coworking memberships, and its trademark southern hospitality to Building 2 for small businesses, entrepreneurs, and nearby students to call home.
The campus contains five large, amenitized buildings conveniently located off North Central Expressway and University Drive. Situated near Dallas’ bustling business hubs, Southern Methodist University, and many of the city’s most sought-after residential areas, Energy Square is an ideal location for all ages and lifestyles. Easily accessible from neighborhoods including Park Cities, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, and Preston Hollow, Common Desk – Energy Square hopes to meet the flexible office needs of both Dallas residents seeking a prominent business address close to home and university students looking for a more conducive (and enjoyable) study and collaboration environment. And with Lovers Lane DART Rail Station a stone’s throw away, workers living further from city center can streamline their commute and access this new office solution as easily as….well, buying a train ticket.
In case we haven’t met…
A bit about Common Desk: our open network of flexible office spaces began in Deep Ellum in 2012 and has grown to 18 locations and counting in Dallas, Houston, Austin, Wilmington, and coming-soon Raleigh, North Carolina. Offering an all-inclusive approach to office space and amenities, Common Desk is proud to provide its members game-changing perks such as access to all locations, endless craft coffee, unlimited conference room use, and community events—all at no extra cost (you heard that right). Built into each space are free amenities such as private chat booths, wellness rooms for mothers, and a hospitality bar staffed by Common Desk and powered by Fiction Coffee.
What to expect
Common Desk – Energy Square will offer just over 25,100 square feet across two floors, including 10 conference rooms, 59 offices, 9 midsize suites and ample socially distanced coworking space. Campus amenities include a landscaped courtyard, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a rooftop deck and an outdoor entertainment and event area with WiFi access (an exciting perk as the return of fun gatherings comes into view). The location boasts multiple onsite dining options as well as proximity to some of Dallas’ best restaurants, bars, and retail destinations.
Because of the campus’ accessibility and future-forward vision, opening a location in Energy Square has been a longtime goal for Common Desk, and we first began pursuing opportunities with the prominent business campus waaaay back in 2017. Common Desk’s location at Energy Square marks the second partnership between Common Desk and landlord USAA, adding to the first in Houston at 2500 Citywest, with the potential for a third on the horizon.
