We’re excited to announce that our first “built from scratch” Common Desk coworking  location in Austin is officially open! Common Desk – 6th & Congress is situated right off two of the most iconic streets in the city. So much of ATX’s history took place within a 1-mile radius of our new location, and we’re excited to add to what makes Austin so notorious with the community we’ll build from floors 8 & 9 of the Littlefield building. We’ve designed our downtown Austin coworking space with both productivity and overall life enjoyment in mind, and we can’t wait for all of the collaboration, networking, hard work, and happy hours that will happen here. Hey! I’m Amy, and I am the Community Manager of our 6th & Congress location down in Austin! As the Community Manager of the space, my job is whatever my members need it to be. Of course, I am responsible for signing up new members + making sure the space is well cared-for, but the heart and soul of a Community Manager's job is meeting the needs of our members which means every day looks different than the last!

Things to do in downtown Austin

Nestled in the heart of Austin, you will find the 2nd Street District which is a shopper’s paradise. You will find anything from home decor to beauty supplies, to men’s and women’s fashion. 2nd Street also boasts numerous restaurants with rave reviews such as La Condesa, an award-winning Mexican restaurant.

Travel down Rainey Street to find some great grub and enjoy a signature cocktail at Lucille Patio Lounge.  You will also find some of Austin’s unique art and history on Rainey Street. The Emma S Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center highlights the Latino culture in Austin.  It boasts 2 museums and live performances among other programs. Stop in and check it out as admission is free. 

If you love the outdoors, you have to check out the Ann and Roy Butler Hike and Bike Trail. The trail spans 10 miles around Lady Bird Lake. Grab your fellow coworking buddies and head out for lunch and a bike ride. 

Austin is also known for its unique art. West Sixth Street offers numerous art galleries like the Wally Workman Gallery, the Stephen L. Clark Gallery, Lotus Gallery, and the Russell Collection to name a few. Grab an espresso from our in-house Fiction Coffee bar and take a stroll into the galleries to find your favorite pieces of art during a lunch break.
