Construction for our first location in Addison is well underway, with a little over two months until we will be adding this new space to the Common Desk family! In August, we’ll be swinging open the doors of our Common Desk – Addison space and WE. CAN’T. WAIT.
Here’s What’s Coming To Addison In Just A Few Short Months
In case it’s been a minute since you’ve read our original blog announcing Addison, here’s a little refresher on need-to-know info for this location: Our new Addison coworking space will be 26,500-square-feet of shared workspace and will span across two stories within Phase One of the Fourteen5 office park. Fourteen5 is a beautiful, brand-spankin’-new office facility in Addison, and by way of Common Desk being within the park itself, our members in Addison will get not only Common Desk perks, but also access to all the amazing amenities that come with Fourteen5 as a whole. What are these said perks, you ask? Read on.
The “Hub” is the central building and courtyard of Fourteen5 that features an outdoor grill, outdoor patio seating, corn hole sets, plenty of green space, and an entire building dedicated to workday amenities. If you’re someone who likes to stretch your legs and get some fresh air throughout your workday, Fourteen5’s courtyard area will be your new happy place. There’s even a pickup basketball court at the office park, which means your after-work (or mid-work) hoop dreams can now become a reality.
While we’re on the topic of wellness, one thing worth mentioning is that Fourteen5 has a full-service gym on the second floor of the Hub that’s free for all tenants and Common Desk members to use. The gym is fully loaded with weights, exercise machines, and an incredible view of the outdoors so you can dream big while you get big. So, consider this us spilling the beans: a membership at Common Desk – Addison also comes with a FREE gym membership. We know this might seem too good to be true, so make sure you schedule a hard hat tour to see for yourself!
Right above the gym is the rooftop patio that overlooks the central courtyard of the Fourteen5 office park. We know we shouldn’t pick favorites, but the rooftop patio is hands-down one of the coolest parts of this office park. There’s a massive skylight, a fire pit with rocking chairs circling it, and even a massive pull-down screen for movie nights or Game Day viewings. Rest assured that plenty of community happy hours and exciting events are going to take place here. Talk about #officegoals.
And last, but certainly not least, if you despise paying for parking, we’ve got good news for you: a membership at Common Desk – Addison comes with free (and plentiful) parking for both members and guests.
Now that we’ve covered the building perks, let’s move into our coworking space itself. Common Desk – Addison will feature noteworthy amenities of its own, including a full-service cocktail lounge, where members can enjoy a craft cocktail at any day of the work week. We’ll also have a dedicated Fiction Coffee bar at the front desk of our space (which we like to call our “Hospitality Bar”), and members will be able to order their go-to espresso drink or breakfast taco right from our new member app called Ellum. The drinks will be discounted for members, and having a micro coffee shop right within the space is going to be a productivity game-changer.
Our new digs in Addison will feature a number of private offices for small and growing teams, as well as plenty of shared desks for those who enjoy that quintessential coworking experience. If you’re interested in making one of these spaces your new office home, head over to our Common Desk – Addison coworking page to book a hard hat tour to get a sneak peak of the space or subscribe to our newsletter for key updates.
Meet The New Addison Community Manager!
While we are thrilled to announce when our Common Desk – Addison doors will be officially open, we are equally as excited to announce the Common Desk staff member who will be steering this Addison joy ride. World, meet Jim Bob Dyke!
Born and raised in Texas, Jim Bob’s Southern accent is sure to put a smile on your face. He grew up in Conroe with his family and eventually made his way to Waco for college.
While in Waco, Jim Bob spent his days working at a great local coffee shop, taking classes (as one would hope), and mostly worth noting– he once got everyone at an In-N-Out Burger to sing Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars (we hope to recreate this moment at our Grand Opening party, just so you know).
Jim Bob and his wife just recently moved to Dallas, and they have a deep love for home-cooked meals and craft beer. If he’s not cooking or spending time with his wife, you’ll probably catch him singing and playing the guitar at a wedding (impressive, right). We are so pumped for Jim Bob to join our team as the Community Manager of our new Common Desk – Addison location. He’s already brought so much joy to our team, and we can’t wait to see his big smile bring tons of joy and energy to our new Addison home.
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: We can’t wait for the doors to Common Desk – Addison to finally be open.
