2017 has proven itself to be one heck of a year for all of us at Common Desk. Two new locations, two expanded spaces, a new product offering, new staff members, new community events, and new coworking members are just a glimpse of all the additions 2017 has brought our way. But we’re not quite done yet.
On top of all the above, we’ve most recently added a local coffee shop to our list of new additions; yep, you heard us right– a full-service coffee shop! We’ve acquired local Dallas coffee shop Method Coffee, and we couldn’t be more ecstatic to share more about what we’ve got in store for our soon-to-be-rebranded shop (stay tuned for more information coming January 1!).
While we wait to rebrand the shop completely at the New Year, we’ve officially transformed Method Coffee into a true Christmas wonderland that we’re calling “Deck the Hall Street.” Deck the Hall Street is Dallas’ first pop-up Christmas coffee shop, and we’re using it to serve up cups of holiday comfort and joy to all.
How Deck The Hall Street Went From A Dream To An Overnight Reality:
It all started when our Oak Cliff Community Manager, Alaethea, approached our entire team with a crazy idea after she heard we were officially taking ownership of Method Coffee. We were all trying to brainstorm what to do with the shop for the month of December while we began to transition it into a new brand, and that’s when Alaethea had the idea of the century: “What if we turn it into a pop-up Christmas coffee shop, a real-life Christmas wonderland unlike anything Dallas has ever seen?” Needless to say, our staff were all instantly on board.
It took a tiny army to achieve, but within 3 weeks, we had everything we needed in place to make Method Coffee’s flagship Ross and Hall location a tiny holiday haven. On Wednesday, December 6, our new coffee GM, Spencer Fox, joined our friends at Counter Culture Coffee to train our unrivaled baristas on the new menu of holiday coffee creations, and the rest of the Common Desk staff came together to transform the shop from floor to ceiling. From 3 pm to 12:30 am, our staff worked like Buddy the Elf to make the flip a reality. Then, 6 hours later, we were open for business as “Deck the Hall Street,” serving up hot Christmas coffee, warm smiles, and insta-worthy moments for all.
Our good friend and long-time Common Desk member, Mariel Pohlman, was the mastermind behind Dallas’ new favorite mural (shown below). She’s only recently broken into the mural game, but with skills this strong, we know this won’t be the last @marpohl mural Dallas sees.
The DTHS Holiday Coffee Menu
By now, you’ve probably heard about our “Falalalatte.” We can’t lie; we’ve heard people say, “This is the best latte I’ve ever had” on multiple occasions, and we believe everyone should experience it. It’s like Christmas in a cup.
But the Falalatte isn’t the only noteworthy coffee creation on the holiday menu. We’ve also got drinks called the Secret Santa, O Christmas Tea, White Christmas Wassail, Candy Cane Forest, and Hohohot Cocoa. To save you time, check out the menu above in full!
Deck the Hall Street Coffee Shop has only been running for 5 days and counting, but it’s already brought us and so many others immeasurable joy. If you’re searching for a fun holiday event to do on your own or with your family, your friends, your significant other, or even your dog, then drop by Deck the Hall Street before the New Year!
