Back in March, we announced our official entry into Austin with our acquisition of a great local brand there called Link Coworking. Now, we’re beyond excited to share more details about both the Common Desk location that’s officially open as of last month, as well as the brand new Common Desk space that’s coming soon to Downtown Austin in just a few short months!

Remind Me, Why Are Y’all Going To Austin, Again?

As one of the earliest coworking brands to open in the Great State of Texas, Common Desk has been providing our members with experiential coworking since 2012. In order to cater to all aspects of a professional’s workday apart from just flexible office space, we have gradually been expanding our offerings beyond coworking to include additional brands in coffee, wellness, and technology. When it comes down to it, all of Common Desk’s brands exist to make professionals of all kinds in all places enjoy their workday more, which is exactly why we’ll be bringing all of our workday brand amenities to the City of Austin with us in just a few short months!

Unlike many coworking brands already in the Austin market, Common Desk has an elevated, all-inclusive model that brings all of our amenities and offerings– from cocktails to conference room bookings– to our members at no extra cost outside of their monthly membership prices. We also operate an open network of coworking spaces, which will allow our Austin-based members to travel between our two locations in Austin, our eight (and counting) locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, and our opening soon locations in other parts of Texas.

The DL On North Austin

The first location, Common Desk – West Anderson (not to be confused with Wes Anderson), is located in North Austin on Anderson Lane (hence the name) and boasts 17,000 square feet of shared office space. This location was formerly known as “Link Flex” and is now fully Common Desk, complete with new membership options for shared desks and dedicated desks. Members of this North Austin coworking space are already enjoying bottomless Counter Culture Coffee within the space, free parking, unlimited conference room bookings, and full access to Common Desk’s Texas network of coworking spaces. If you’re in need of a quality workspace in the north side of Austin to immediately start enjoying, schedule a tour of Common Desk – West Anderson soon; we’ll set you up with a free day trial when you come and all the coffee and productivity you could want!

The DL On Downtown Austin

The second Common Desk location, Common Desk – Downtown Austin, will open later this year in the historic Littlefield building, Austin’s oldest office building at the corner of 6th and Congress. If you’ve ever been to the heart of Downtown Austin, then you’ve surely noticed this beaut of a building, and we cannot wait to call the top two floors of it our new coworking home in just a few short months!

Common Desk – Downtown Austin is a workspace designed for individuals, startups, growing teams, and small businesses, with shared desk areas on both floors, nine conference rooms with unlimited usage for members, and private offices for teams ranging in size from one to fourteen. Fiction Coffee, Common Desk’s coffee brand, will be present at this location with both drip and specialty coffee offerings, and Austin members will have the ability to use our technology, Ellum, to enjoy handcrafted lattes or local favorites like a Noisy Cricket IPA by simply ordering on the app (not bad, right?).

Other features of Common Desk – Downtown Austin will include a greenhouse meeting space, a cocktail lounge and wetbar, two shared kitchen areas, a wellness and mothers’ room, and skylights that will bring a plethora of natural light into the workspace. The aesthetics of this space will combine the area’s historic charm with a design-forward feel, while still preserving the original elements of the building such as its crown molding and clay blocks in offices. Other design features include natural wood for office storefronts, warm tones, and of course, art installations in collaboration with stellar local Austin artists.

We’re incredibly excited to bring Common Desk to two great Austin locations. We have always thought Austin and our brand would be a great match, and as we continue to grow our footprint across Texas, we can’t wait to finally add Austin to our network for current and future members to enjoy.

Nick Clark, CEO of Common Desk

Common Desk’s Downtown Austin location will open in just a few months, but we’re gearing up to give tours in the next few weeks and will begin pre-leasing and exciting pre-opening meetups later this summer. You can head to our location page here to subscribe to our newsletter to learn more information!

Common Desk – West Anderson is already open and servicing a large community of Austin professionals with its suites, offices, and shared desk offerings. You can swing by this location anytime for a tour, a day pass, a conference room rental, or to learn more about offices and suites!

Though coworking is already prevalent in Austin, Common Desk is entering the market to provide Austin professionals a truly elevated experience with the amenities we’re dropping in, our incredible staff, and our Texas-sized offices. ATX, let’s get this party started!
