2017 has already been a crazy exciting year for the Common Desk brand as a whole– we’ve expanded our flagship Deep Ellum location, we’re getting ready to open our third and biggest coworking space to date in West Plano’s Granite Park, and now, we’re thrilled to announce that we’re officially expanding to Fort Worth!

Common Desk – Fort Worth will be our fourth coworking space as a brand and our first coworking space in Fort Worth. Common Desk – Fort Worth will be located on Crockett Row, right in the heart of the West 7th District, one of the fastest growing areas of Fort Worth. And we. are. pumped.

Because of the tight-knit culture of the city of Fort Worth, we believe that the community culture within Common Desk will really soar to new heights within all that Fort Worth has to offer.

Hey Fort Worth, Here’s What We’re Bringing Your Way In Just A Few Short Months!

Common Desk – Fort Worth will occupy 13,000 sf of space at 2833 Crockett Street and will feature:

  • 75 shared desk seats
  • 110 dedicated desks
  • 25 private offices
  • 5 conference rooms

Additional features of the space will include an outdoor patio, shared bikes to explore surrounding areas, and a hospitality bar with snacks, beer, and locally roasted coffee.

We pride ourselves on building spaces that boast memberships which are truly all-inclusive. What does all-inclusive mean, exactly? It means that you’ll never find a hidden charge for an amenity in our space– so when we say that things like a business suite number, unlimited conference room usage, bottomless coffee, community and private events, parking, and printing are included in your membership, we mean it with everything in us. The flat rate you see on paper is the price that you’ll be charged month-by-month: no asterisks, no problems.

Opening a location in Fort Worth will be our most exciting expansion to date. Fort Worth is ripe with freelancers, small businesses, and entrepreneurs, and we think our brand’s culture will bring an added resource to help these professionals continue to grow their businesses.

Nick Clark, Founder of Common Desk

We call our office aesthetic “industrial chic,” and we approach every new buildout with the desire to encapsulate the neighborhood’s quirks and characteristics in the key features of the space’s design. We do this in a variety of ways, including: using local artists for the artistic touches in each space, brewing local coffee always, and using local fabricators like 44Build to custom-design and build every piece of furniture in our spaces.

We love that Fort Worth’s community is built around a big city with a small-town feel. Our approach to community culture is unique in that even though Common Desk is a big (and ever-growing) network, we use each space, hire specific positions, and create unique events to make the community feel even tighter than it is. We love the similar tight-knit feel of the Fort Worth community and believe it is going to be a perfect match for us. We’re looking forward to coming in and soaking in the funky small-town feel of Fort Worth and its neighborhoods.

Common Desk – Fort Worth will be Common Desk’s first coworking space in the Fort Worth metroplex, and we’re beyond excited to tap into the local heartbeat of the Fort Worth community.

So why would a Dallas-based coworking space want to expand to Fort Worth?

The simple answer? Fort Worth is badass. We love Dallas and will always pride ourselves from starting and growing up here, but when we look at Fort Worth, we see a city that really knows what it’s about, a city that’s ripe with opportunity, a city that’s got something really special going on when it comes to culture and community– and when it comes down to it, that’s what makes our eyes wider and our hearts swell most.

We also see Fort Worth as the Wild, Wild West of coworking. DFW as a whole has seen a spike in coworking growth, with Dallas in particular now being a heavily saturated shared office market. Fort Worth, on the other hand, has a handful of really integral and distinctive coworking players (learn more about them here!), but with more and more small businesses, entrepreneurs, and freelancers making Fort Worth their business and personal home, there’s still a great need for additional flexible office solutions within the city that’s low-key booming.

And why the West 7th District?

Fort Worth’s West 7th District is seeing significant growth right now. The neighborhood has everything we look for when opening a new Common Desk location. It has high walkability, it’s a hot spot of new restaurants, cool local spots, vibey hangout spots, and plenty of things to keep our members entertained when they come into the office day in and day out.

Common Desk as a coworking space comes with a built-in ecosystem of professionals who are ready to pour their resources into the neighborhood they work from. On average, Common Desk members funnel approximately $2 million into the neighborhoods surrounding Common Desk on an annual basis (see the full Local Economic Impact of Coworking here). Keeping this in mind, we’re pretty choosy when it comes to location, because we want to make sure the spot that we choose is going to benefit our members most, because we know that, in turn, our members will end up benefiting it in big ways in return. (And the fact that there’s a Velvet Taco within walking distance is purely coincidence and had no impact on our decision to open a coworking space in the West 7th District whatsoever….)

Common Desk – Fort Worth will be debuting on Crockett Row at West 7th toward September of 2017, and we simply cannot wait to begin coworking with the Fort Worth community.
